Construction · Shutdowns · Project Management & Controls

Two decades solving industrial problems. Now solving yours.

Project management and controls leadership for construction and shutdown work, earned from the field to the corporate office. When we take on a task, the work holds up, and so do the tools it leaves behind.

The path

The judgment came from doing the work.

Field Craftsman. Corporate turnaround project controls and systems manager at a major US refiner. Founder. Each step is why the advice holds up on a Tuesday at 6 a.m.

  1. 01

    Field Craftsman

Learned the work with tools in hand: fit-up, tolerance, sequence, and what a schedule actually costs when a bolt will not line up.

  2. 02

Corporate Turnaround Project Controls & Systems Manager

At a major US refiner: scope development, cost and schedule control, KPI design, and the reporting systems leadership relied on to make the call.

Where we work

The full turnaround lifecycle, end to end.

One team across the whole arc, so the number that gets budgeted is the number that gets executed.

Built on the job

What comes out of the work.

Every engagement leaves something behind. Our tools started as real-world problems; we reuse them, reshape them, or build something new for the next job. Clients run on Enterprise BI Manager today. Others came to us for ResourceFlow and left with something built for them.

Enterprise BI Manager

Live

Turn a sprawling report estate into one governed model.

A local application that decomposes and standardizes large Power BI report estates. It reads each report’s contents, keeps a revision history per file, rolls reports up into a portfolio-level model, and applies standards through a propose → review → approve → write workflow. Runs entirely locally. Report files in, report files out. No AI inside the client deliverable.

  • Reads and inventories every report in the estate, not just the ones someone remembered
  • Revision history per file, so drift is visible
  • Portfolio roll-up across reports, workspaces and owners
  • Standards applied through propose → review → approve → write

Pilot

Resource and project management with a human in the loop.

A resource and project management platform: dashboards, AI-assisted planning, resource demand, scheduling, reporting and approvals, with Primavera P6 XER sync and WBS/activity mapping. Recommendations surface for review; nothing changes a schedule without a person approving it.

  • Primavera P6 XER sync with WBS and activity mapping
  • Resource demand and forecasting across competing work
  • AI-assisted planning surfaced for review, never auto-applied
  • Schedules, reporting and approvals in one place

Shutdown IT

Pilot

A refinery turnaround, playable. Scaffold IT! is the demo.

Step onto a refinery turnaround and build the access that gets the work done. In Scaffold IT!, the first playable craft in Shutdown IT, you work an FCC unit in first person: plan the job on a tablet, build the scaffold piece by piece, call the inspection and live with the result. Start as a new hire and rise to foreman over the turnaround. The full game, with every craft on the job, follows in early 2027.

  • First-person on an FCC unit during a turnaround
  • Plan on a tablet, build it piece by piece, pass the inspection
  • Rise from new hire to journeyman, leadman and foreman
  • Desktop, with keyboard and mouse or a game controller

Field Notes

Short, specific, from the work.

Notes on scope, controls and where software actually helps — written for the people who have to run it.

How we work

Four rules we do not bend.

Experience first, tools second

The judgment comes from having run the work. The software exists to give that judgment more room.

Human-in-the-loop on every decision

Systems prepare recommendations and show their basis. A person approves. Nothing moves on its own.

Private-first, offline where required

When data cannot leave the site, the tool runs locally. No cloud dependency in the critical path.

No sales layer, no junior bench

You work with the person doing the work. No account managers, no learning curve billed to you.

Next step

Tell us what you are trying to land.

A scope, a reporting mess, a schedule that stopped making sense. One conversation is usually enough to know whether we can help.
